Slashing is for bad actors attempting to trick the blockchain with malicious actions. You would have nothing to worry about in that regard with a CEX.

Nah, been staking for a long time and never been slashed. You can look at the validators history before you select them.

If you’re talking about locked earnings on binance about DOT, then no, your funds won’t be at risk from slashing because you’re not technically “staking”. You’re just locking your coins with binance and they will just pay you interest over that period of time.

However, if you are staking DOT natively on the DOT blockchain, then yes, you might experience slashing if the validator is acting maliciously.

    Hi Binancian, how are you?

Thank you for contacting us today, we’ll be more than happy in support you!

To help combat some of these risks, such as slashing, Binance staking offers some protections to users. However, there will always be risks associated with any form of staking, even through Binance. Binance Staking takes on all slashing risks for users. This promise means that the same amount of tokens that a user staked will be returned to them. However, the fiat value of the staked tokens may fluctuate, and you may have no recourse for any losses.

Binance Staking can reduce some of these risks and will return the number of tokens staked by a user that would otherwise be lost through slashing 🙂
