In the spirit of total transparency, I don’t understand why an email has not gone out. Not everyone reads Reddit or follows CZ on twitter. I do both and knew immediately; however, I have had to advise family members of the situation.

If users should be changing passwords and resetting 2FA, an email needs to go out with that information before withdrawals are reenabled.

At the very least, notify users by email a hack occurred, funds are safe, and to follow further communications elsewhere. This is a simple rule for any company who has a breach.

I like CZ and Binance. I just don’t understand why an email didn’t go out if they are so transparent.

That’s fine. Still gonna remove my $ whenever you resolve this. Not your keys, not your bitcoin.

I wonder how those security experts are going to “find” the hackers. Isn’t the whole point of blockchains that they decentralised and anonymous? Once it’s been send, it’s gone. Also actually being able to steal 7k BTC from them makes me think they aren’t some random hackers but smart enough to not be found.

Hope they fix it for all of us soon though :3

Very good and clear update. To be secure, I updated my Binance PW with 2FA. I have also installed the Auto Phishing code to prevent phishing attempts from fake Binance websites or email addresses.

I love CZ and Binance. As about security, I once got hacked and almost lost everything from my wallets. Security is an issue everywhere. I have to admit that even if it sounds stupid, since I got hacked, I feel that my coins are safer on Binance than everywhere else. Coinbase also feels seriously safe. Curious to see future security solutions. Thanks for these words CZ. It made me feel good actually. Everyone will get stronger after this. Meanwhile, BTC climbing towards 8k. The market doesn’t seem to care…

I definitely want YubiKey. They should have done that already but w/e, better late than never.

They should be careful about rolling out so many changes within a short amount of time, especially when their team is probably overworked and tired. Rushing changes without proper consideration or testing is how additional bugs/vectors of attacks get introduced. They claim that they are working with a dozen security expert teams. Why so many and what is the risk of potentially giving this many people access and information about your internal systems.

Then they say that they are only tentatively looking to reopen withdawals next week. Not having a firm date does not fill me with confidence.

Thanks, CZ you are really adding value to the crypto community by having clear and transparent thoughts. I understand it’s a very tough phase for an Entrepreneur to loose 7000 BTC all of sudden, don’t worry we are with you keep doing the good work.

Update? The only update we want is when we can deposit/withdraw.
