Passport needed to withdraw but I don’t have a passport for the country I signed up with. Huobi refusing to help.
When I signed up with Huobi they simply asked for “country” field. I entered Australia because I am a long time resident here (have proof of address docs), and have two forms of government issued ID here including drivers license. I am also currently living here. My mistake…
However because I am a citizen of New Zealand I only have a New Zealand passport. I tried to change my country in account settings but you cannot once you have registered. I decided to submit my NZ passport anyway on the account verification page and i got the result back, “Name or number of the document is inconsistent with the name of the account”
I then proceed to email support explaining my situation and asking what I need to do to become verified. To which they reply with this barely comprehend able response:
“Hello, nationality once selected can not be changed, please re-register your account on it.
If you have new consultation, you can re send the new mail to you. Please don’t reply on the basis of this email, so as not to respond to your questions in time. Thank you for your cooperation.”
So they basically told me I’m fucked and to make a new account and to not email them again? This can’t be right because I have all the documentation that would be needed to complete KYC I simply made the mistake of entering my country field incorrect when signing up. Could somebody from Huobi please work with me here, its ridiculous and I want to get my money of their exchange ASAP.
