What “two-factor authentication device” is Bitstamp talking about after resetting my password?

I have no such device. I am trying to reset my wallet password, and I am completely stuck, tech support is absolutely useless, they keep referring to “the app”, but which app are we even talking about?

Are there any other legal way to get this password reset?

Gemini uses Authy, everything is fine and dandy, never have to jump through hoops. Why is Bitstamp so complicated with their 2FA?

Refers to the application that you used for setting up 2FA, such as; Google Authentication or DUO mobile. If you no longer have a working 6-digit code, you can submit a reset request to disable 2FA on your Bitstamp account. If you need any further assistance, PM me more info.

Resolved, but with a ton of headache.

Sorry, Bitstamp, but your app is full of bugs. Resetting a password should not be a clumsy and buggy mess like this has been.
