I am writing this post to warn everyone about [u/Coinbase](https://www.reddit.com/u/Coinbase/) [u/coinbasesupport](https://www.reddit.com/u/coinbasesupport/) the scam that they pulled on me:

I transferred thousands of dollars to their platform, only to later discover that preventative measures such as a change in the ticker name and a pop-up warning message were not present at the time of my initial transfer (but added subsequently). As a result of their sheer negligence, I have lost a significant amount of money that I had worked hard to save over the years. This financial loss has caused immense stress and hardship in my personal life, ultimately leading to the destruction of my marriage and other cascading affects.

It is shocking that Coinbase is a publicly listed company on the NASDAQ and yet they are able to scam innocent people out of their hard-earned savings. If Brian Armstrong CEO is aware that this is happening at the company, then he needs to stand trial for this. I urge regulators to investigate this matter and look into any potential criminal activity on the part of Coinbase.

I urge everyone think twice about using Coinbase, and maybe look to other exchanges such as Binance (which are much more professional and value their customers). You are 100% liable/negligent for misleading your customers to send their crypto via an unsupported network and to an unsupported wallet as you used the same ticker as the native IOTX instead of adding “ERC-20”, which you have now added (after the fact) along with a warning message (both of which were absent at the time of transfer – that is totally scandalous and does not look good in the eyes of the regulators or to shareholders of your publicly listed company.

So you moved everything you had in one deposit instead of trying a test deposit to make sure it went where it was supposed to go.

This is on you and you alone. Nothing to see here folks. User error.

Sorry to hear that you made the classic rookie mistake of not testing to see if it’ll work by sending a small amount first before you sent a large amount. Hope you recover from your loss.

TLDR: OP Can’t take responsability for his mistake ( not checking deposit address) so he accuses a company making millions daily to scam him out of ???$. Do not crypto if you have that attitude, give your hard-earned money to your mom and let her manage your finances.

Oh no. Coinbase don’t have your money. You sent into a crypto black hole. It’s gone forever. You’ll never make that mistake again.

Your wife is leaving you because you’re an idiot my dude, and after your mistake you’re still behaving like one rn. Just send a little for a test if you cannot be sure about the network. Everybody knows about this. Everybody.

Look on the bright side. If and when Coinbase support native iotx you will get them back.

It’s true that Binance is by far the best exchange in the market.
But coinbase isn’t guilty in your case, you should have sent a little amount before sending it all.

I’m not a fan of Coinbase either, but: 1) this is Binance subreddit, and 2) neither Coinbase nor Binance can fix stupid. Better luck next time

    Yeah right….

Coinbase does have massive errors of its own, it is what it is.
$hitty, yes, but employees on customer support are as useless as Binance, for that matter. They’re just paid to answer questions, not fix problems, if they answer anyone at all.

Coinbase upgraded their platform a few years back and stuff got messed up, anyone that added a bank account on the old platform and trying to use it on the new platform, the bank account is permanently disconnected – no matter how many times it tries to get fixed, it’s broken on some varying degree and you just have to use a separate *bank account.

They (CB) have admitted errors in the software platform, such as displaying incorrect financial data, Google it.

    As everyone has said-
Yes, try small amounts first, and spread.
Never rely on a single platform, and don’t drop anything in on what you can’t afford to lose.
