Hey,
I’ve read quite a few times while being on Binance Telegram that if you use the stand alone Binance trading application, even during high volume transactions, it won’t lag at all. Couldn’t get a clear answer on two aspects though:
– Why is the stand alone application much more reliable than the website itself ?
– Is the stand alone application as secure as logging in Binance website ?

Thanks in advance for your replies. Please bring arguments as well, not just “Yes” or “No” answers.

The slowdown is essentially because JavaScript applications that execute in the browser (Binance website) are nowhere near as efficient as a standalone application that has been compiled to do a specific task. This is especially true when trying to display the updates from hundreds of trades per second if not thousands during pumps. It doesn’t have anything to do with the number of users accessing one platform or another as they both would assumably use the same API. So essentially its hitting the performance capability of the JavaScript engine in the browser or because of poor coding.

The security between the two applications are virtually the same, both supporting all the standard security features Binance offer.

Having used both for some time now, I vary rarely use the web client. The mobile app and desktop client provides a much better lag free experience and better charting layouts (on the desktop app)

1/ The answer to your first question is that, not many people use the app. Which means there is not as much traffic because it is a running application, not a website. This makes it much more efficient. The application is way more reliable during huge pumps as there won’t be tens of thousands of people on the app compared to the app.

2- it is exactly as secure as the binance app itself. Except I recommend you don’t have the same google Authenticator on the same phone you’ll be trading on for security purposes. But, the app is made by binance devs, it is the equivalent of logging in the binance website.

Hope I answered your questions fully. Let me know if you have any more questions!

Thanks both of you for answers, just checked it as a guest and I can confirm the application doesn’t lag during dumps ( XVG dump today )

No phishing sites with the app. Just throwing that one in.
