That’s it, I’m done with Bitstamp (but they’re holding my money)

Bitstamp used to be so simple and by far -in my opinion- the best exchange around. Then last year they suddenly started asking for so much documents and proof of fund. I sent what I had and it took them three months to come back to me… and they’re not happy with the documents.

Fun part they told me “according to our records you have 9 Bitcoins and we need to see the source of that”. 9 Bitcoins ? If only! So apparently for Bitstamp if you move 1 Bitcoin back and forth 9 times… you have 9 Bitcoins!

I also find it really funny that they ask me for proof when I got most of my crypto from their platform!

So that’s it. I don’t like to feel treated like a drug lord and I hate how they’re not only invasive but just make you feel like you did something wrong. And anyway : I don’t have anything else to send to them!

Only problem : I just did a withdraw of 1.6k us (and of course they let you go through that without telling you anything) and now it’s stuck. So I guess it’s fine for them to act like that and keep money that’s not theirs!

Come on Bitstamp : just give me my money back and let me close my account. There are much better platforms around.

I’ll post updates but knowing them I’m a bit worried about my money (and it’s not cheap change, I need it for next month rent!)

I would stay away if I were you.
